Where can I go & what can I do?
Before you start planning your trip, you need to think carefully about where you want to go and what you want to do. You will most likely be building your adventure with a reputable organisation that specialises in overseas charity work for young people. Remember what you found out in the previous section about so called 'voluntourism'. You will be going on your own or as a small group of IST students and linking up with more young people at a central European airport before departure.
The list below contains details of some of the many reputable organisations who specialise in charity trips for young people all over the world. Some in the list are charities and some are businesses. Of course, it is up to you to carry out further research and decide who and what you want to support. You may also search in your home country for suitable organisations too.
However, please be aware that some of the best trips we have ever sent our students on were local French based charities, where the cost was very low. See Paulo's visit in 2017!
