Hi! I’m Miriam and I’m Pauline, and we will forever be thankful to the Rao family, to have been granted the opportunity to live our dream in Ghana.
For two weeks, we will have the pleasure of participating in the care and renovations work that Project Abroad offers, during our time in Ghana. Whilst we are there, we will be staying with a host family, which will allow us to get involved with the Ghanaian culture. In the morning, we will volunteer in day care centres, doing basic renovation work, such as painting and decorating the classrooms. In the afternoons, we will help carry out activities and games, to entertain the children with. Not only will we be entertaining them, but we will also help with feeding and cleaning them. We chose this particular project because we get to make a difference to little children, who do not get the same privileges as we do. Spending time with the children, and bringing smiles to their young faces, would instantly bring one to ours.
We feel that this initiative is extremely suited to us, as we both enjoy spending time with children, as well as gaining the sense of accomplishment when having constructed something. This means that we are beyond grateful towards this foundation.
This project will most definitely change the way we look at the world, and allow us to develop in a positive way. We are both very good with children (due to younger family members) and love-spending time with them, however, the scenario in which we will be, is very different to what we are used to. It has been a dream of ours for a long time and being given this opportunity feels surreal. This project will give us both a massive sense of accomplishment, as we will be helping children that truly need it and will benefit largely of it. Knowing that we have made ourselves useful is a fantastic feeling that we will never be able to forget.
We cannot wait to embark on this adventure that will forever remain with us!
Thank you again!
